Lunging bridge

The lunging bridge create a connection between the two bridle rings under the chin. It has a separate ring in the middle into which the lunge is buckled. This bridge creates tension on both snaffle rings.

How useful the use of the lunging glasses is can be discussed controversially. On the one hand it prevents the outer bit ring from being pulled through the horse's mouth (this would be the case if the lunge is only hooked into the inner bit ring and the horse runs away over the outer shoulder). On the other hand, a correct inner position cannot be achieved, because when the lunge is accepted, there is even increased pressure on the outer bit ring. This usually leads to the horse's neck being rejected. For the correct exercise of the horse on the lunge, the lunging bridge are rather disadvantageous.

The use of the lunging glasses is quite practical for the lungeing of young or temperamental horses. In case the horse goes through or breaks away, the lunger has more control by pulling on both snaffle rings and does not run the risk of pulling the outer snaffle ring into the horse's mouth when countering with the lunge.
