Change halfway through the lane

BASIC

Description

At the beginning of the exercise, the rider moves along the outside track to the first point on the long side. Once the point is reached, the rider turns away and changes diagonally to the opposite point, in the middle of the other long side. By riding on the other hand, a change of the direction is carried out. The change point is one horse's length before reaching the outside track.

Tips and hints

The corners of the riding arena should be ridden clearly and carefully. Care must be taken to ensure that, despite the short diagonal, the turn from or on to the outside track is not too tight and that the points B and E are ridden cleanly. On the diagonal, the horse should also be straight and follow a straight path. In order to avoid unwanted serpentines, it can be helpful at the beginning to pick up the pace slightly.
