Wolfgang Müller passed away

The well-known riding master and former team rider Wolfgang Müller died on December 30, 2021 at the age of 90.
Born in 1931 in what was then the GDR, the man did not come into contact with horse riding until 1950. That was after the Second World War.
At the beginning he received lessons from Werner Eggers and Willi Lorenz before he settled in Löbnitz.
In 1972 he placed fifth with the German team on the occasion of the Olympic Games in Munich. In the singles he was 16.

Müller was considered an excellent trainer. In total, he was able to achieve 35 GDR titles. What is special: At that time, the trainers from the GDR received little or no support from the West.
Often the riders had to learn the piaffe and passage from the circus and then train their horses independently.
So also Müller.

Because of his successes and achievements in dressage, Wolfgang Müller was awarded the title of "Riding Master" in 1998.
