December licensing in Elmshorn: The Holstein stallion candidates are online

(Elmshorn) In a few weeks, the Holstein association facility in Elmshorn will be transformed into the venue for the young stallion licensing for candidates of the 2021 vintage. From December 14th to 16th, 47 potential sires of the future will introduce themselves - these are now online with photos, videos, Pedigrees and family records can be viewed at www.holsteiner.auction.

Most of the sons - there are three of them - send sires like Casall v. Caretino or his son Cascadello I, equally represented with three offspring are Keaton by. Kannan and the Cornet Obolensky son Corniolo. “It is also extremely pleasing that younger stallions such as the champion stallion at the time, Cahil v. Cornet Obolensky or the reserve champion Chinchero by. Chopin enriched the lot with three sons in her first licensing year,” says breeding director Stephan Haarhoff. Chopin v. Casall, Christian v. Cartani, Clarimo v. Clearway, Cornet Obolensky v. Clinton, and Grandorado TN v. Eldorado van de Zeshoek is also represented with two offspring each.

Some innovations for the licensing and beyond
Holding the event as a pilot project in Elmshorn is probably the biggest novelty of the Holstein main licensing in December. Further innovations include the integration of two free jumps for all stallions on Thursday (December 14th) and Friday (December 15th), which are equally reflected in the licensing decisions. The licensing results will be announced on Friday evening. But on Saturday there will be hearts pounding again in the stands of the Fritz-Thiedemann-Halle when it comes to the question of which stallion will be proclaimed the celebrated champion stallion. From Saturday lunchtime the focus will be on the auction of non-approved and approved stallions and riding horses. The Holsteiner Association in Germany is taking a pioneering role when it comes to stallion health checks: this year, X-rays of the back were also taken for the first time. There is also good news for all those who purchase a licensed stallion at the auction on December 16th: At a joint stallion presentation for all stallion owners with at least one stallion continued in Holstein in March 2024 in Elmshorn, they will be their three-year-old new arrivals in the first You can show it for free every year.

If you don't have tickets for the Holstein annual highlight yet, you should hurry up. Tickets can be ordered online via eventim, at all known advance booking offices and locally via the Holsteiner Verband in Elmshorn. All information about the stallions can be found at www.holsteiner.auction.
