The course was super tricky and demanded very fast reactions from horses and riders: There were no presents in the round of the Grand Prix in La Coruna. And so it was not surprising that only nine pairs completed the course without any faults. As many as six riders had to pull out early or were eliminated. Not so Philipp Weishaupt with Coby, the two were the only Germans to reach the jump-off on this Saturday evening. The father-to-be seems to be on a roll at the moment. After a fourth place the day before, he really wanted to go for it in the jump-off.
His luck: He was one of the last starters and was able to let the competition get ahead of him. The winner of the previous day, Harry Charles with Billabong du Roumouis (by Mylord Carthago), had been in the lead until then. The pair reached the finish line in 35.58 seconds. This was the mark that had to be beaten. Weishaupt and Coby, a well-rehearsed team, took full risk - and were rewarded. After only 34.19 seconds, the clock stopped and Philipp raised his winning fist into the sky of La Coruna. There were still two more starters to come, but they were no longer a threat to Weishaupt and so the rider in the Beerbaum stable was able to enjoy around 69,000 Euros in prize money.

Third place went to the Irish rider Jack Ryan with Guppie VDL (by Arezzo VDL) ahead of the Swedish rider Petronella Andersson and Claptonn Mouche (by Conrad). Jack Whitaker and Equine America Valmy de la Lande (by Mylord Carthago) finished fifth.
Marcus Ehning and A la Carte NRW (by Abke) were one out of the placings after a net roll in the round.
