In the CCI4*-L, the couple initially took the lead after the dressage and after the cross-country started as the second best and therefore penultimate in the jumping. Klimke's mistakes in the course enabled the second German participant in this test, Arne Bergendahl with Luthien, to place fourth with 41.6 minus points, ahead of the team Olympic champion.
