VEOLIA CLASSICO cancelled, 1. CLASSICO LIVE-AUCTION takes place

The international four-star show jumping tournament Veolia CLASSICO will be postponed to March 2023, but a premiere will still be celebrated in 2022...
Tournament manager Axel Milkau announces the decisions for the future with mixed feelings: "The federal and state governments have decided to maintain the Corona measures, which means for us that we will hold our international four-star tournament, the Veolia CLASSICO, to March 2023.” After a short break, he adds with a smile: “Corona keeps presenting us with new challenges and has motivated us not to remain in fear, but to break new ground.” No sooner said than done! In cooperation with M&M Sportpferde GbR (Hilmar Meyer & Axel Milkau), the entire equestrian world is invited to a Braunschweig premiere on March 5th: the 1st CLASSICO Live Auction as a hybrid event. That means: The auction will be broadcast live on ClipMyHorse.TV, invited guests can bid in the hall as well as from anywhere else in the world.
The auction was originally intended to be integrated into the larger framework of the Veolia CLASSICO under the name M&M Night Affairs. Postponed is not canceled - that is the plan for 2023. This year the top auction lot will be presented and auctioned off at the Auction Night directly in the hall of the LöwenClassics sports center in Braunschweig. "A premiere not only for us, but also for Braunschweig and the region," says Milkau.
"We have put together a top collection of ten four to six-year-old horses," explains Hilmar Meyer with a happy smile. "Together with Tjark Nagel, we sighted the horses and paid the greatest attention to two things: the quality and the rideability." The lot consists of ten modern thoroughbred horses, which make both the professional and the ambitious amateur very well ridden. Three licensed stallions are among them, but also some mares and geldings. "I'm sure we have something for every taste," emphasizes Meyer. Curious? This year, the auction is building the bridge to the CLASSICO 2023, so to speak, because it will also be an integral part of the tournament in the coming years and in the years to come. The region and the partners of the CLASSICO are absolutely thrilled that the auction will make the CLASSICO even more international and global and will also be secured this year. "In the course of the many discussions with our partners due to the Corona situation, all of our partners have also given their commitment to secure the CLASSICO in the medium term beyond 2023 - at four-star level!" emphasizes Milkau and adds: "We are we all agree that the CLASSICO should remain the top event in the region, in the future with the auction, and our anticipation for 2023 is already growing from day to day.”

The complete LC system
This makes the CLASSICO auction a further building block in the LC system. A complete system consisting of the tournament, the Veolia CLASSICO, the LC sports center, the LC sports promotion, the LC agency and now the LC CLASSICO auction. Each building block builds on the others. Each building block is another part in the overall system. "We will pay a portion of the sales result of the auction to the LC sports promotion in order to further promote youth sports," explains Milkau. The youngsters, who in two or three years' time will be competing at the Veolia CLASSICO - ideally with horses that were bought at the CLASSICO auction.
