Kent Farrington retires his Aachen winner Gazelle

Together they won the Rolex Grand Prix in Geneva in 2017 and the Grand Prix at the CHIO Achen in 2019: Kent Farrington and his Gazelle were the measure of all things for a long time. Numerous Grand Prix victories in Calgary, Madrid, Wellington, Tryon, Valence and St. Tropez, among others, can be attributed to the Kashmir van Schuttershof daughter, there was hardly a tournament where she was not among the front runners.
On 11 February in Wellington, her rider, Kent Farrington, would like to bid farewell to the now 17-year-old wonder mare, who has won over 4 million dollars in her career. In all honour.
Her owner Robin Parsky wrote on Instagram: It is with sincere respect and great admiration that Robin Parsky and Kent Farrington would like to announce the passing of the wonderful mare Gazelle. One of the best show jumpers of the century has just turned 17 years old. She still won her last jumping competition at Spruce Meadows in September 2022.

"After ten years and extraordinary sporting success at the best tournaments in the world, it is of course difficult for Kent Farrington and me to end her sporting career. But we are happy that Gazelle is fit and healthy and can now enjoy her well-deserved retirement on the green," Robin Parsky summarises the decision. "We are so immensely grateful to her for sharing her talent, her big heart with me and Kent and the whole team. Enjoy your new life, you pretty girl with the big ears."
Gazelle, who was also introduced by Eiken Sato at the very beginning of her career, is scheduled to be sent off at Wellington on Saturday ahead of the Fidelity Investment GP. The Belgian mare also won this Grand Prix in 2017. And so the circle closes.
