Münster (fn-press). Ingrid Klimke's Olympic horse FRH Butts Abraxxas is no longer alive. After almost 20 years together, the rider decided to let her "family and heart horse" go and not let her suffer due to acute age-related heart failure. "Braxxi" was 25 years old. "We owe countless moments of happiness to the little fighter with his huge heart," she writes on her social media channels.

In 2005 Ingrid Klimke took over the Heraldik xx son bred by the late Friedrich Butt from Bülkau. Albert Habermann had previously brought the black horse into the sport. With Abraxxas, the riding champion celebrated her greatest success to date. For six years, the two of them belonged to a German championship team without interruption, the dream team won team gold twice at the Olympic Games (2008 and 2012), won team gold at the European Championships in 2011 and became German champion in 2009. In their last joint In the 2013 season, the pair once again tackled England's prestigious top tests - Badminton and Burghley - and finished their careers with a fifth place finish at Burghley.

The following year, the then 17-year-old Hanoverian was officially dismissed at the international eventing tournament in Luhmühlen. Ingrid Klimke's longtime stable manager Carmen Thiemann was there. "With great motivation, perseverance, toughness and willpower, you have mastered every step of the training with flying colors. Carmen, who became your best friend and confidant, always supported, cared for and built you up in the best possible way. Your gratitude to us was your unshakable health,” Klimke writes about FRH Butts Abraxxas on her website. Also present in Luhmühlen was Klimke's daughter Greta Busacker, meanwhile U21 double European champion, who helped "Braxxi" to achieve his first successes in the juniors after switching from the pony. Among other things, the two started twice at the National Eventing Championships for young talents in Warendorf and at the U16 national finals, before Greta Busacker started with other horses in international sport.
