Marco Kutscher, European champion and Olympic bronze medalist, has a new diamond in the rough in his care: Karajan.

The name Karajan is not unknown in the German youngster show jumping sport. Many certainly still know him as a jumping winner of the Westphalian Main Licensing.
But first from the beginning. Karajan is a son of the famous Kannan. His mother is a Verdi Cornet Obolensky daughter. In 2016 he was licensed on the occasion of the Westphalian main licensing. At that time he was also awarded as a jumping winner.
During the auction connected there he changed for 620,000 euros into the common possession of the monastery yard Medingen and the stud Fohlenhof of family Heicke in Hassloch.
In order to be able to further approve him for breeding, he takes his 14-day test in 2017. There, too, he was able to demonstrate his exceptional talent, earning scores of up to 9.2 in jumping.
As a four-year-old, the impressive Kannan son then also showed himself on the show grounds for the first time. Together with his trainer Christian Temme, he won novice (A) and elementary (L) level tests for young show jumpers.
Another year later, he could win his sport test with a score of 9.65.
Despite the corona pandemic in 2020, Karajan outgrew himself. He became Hanoverian show jumping champion and qualified for the Bundeschampionat. Now the team of the Klosterhof, under the direction of Christoph Wahler, has decided to put the further promotion of Karajan in the hands of Marco Kutscher. With him, the stallion should also collect his first international successes. Despite the change of stables, Klosterhof assured its breeders that Karajan would continue to be available as a stud stallion through the station. From May, fresh semen from him should also be available again.
