Description
4 poles are placed in the riding arena in a zigzag pattern with some distance between them. The angle of the poles to each other is about 90 degrees. The path is chosen in this exercise so that after riding over the first pole, a ¾-volt leads to the next pole and so on (see picture). This way a clean and well-behaved ride on the single elements can be achieved in spite of the stringing together of the poles.
Tips and hints
The exercise will be easier the further you apply the volt, because the paths will be wider and there will be more space for a clean ride to the next bar. To make this exercise more varied, the angle of the poles can be reduced and the intensity of the curved lines can be varied. Additionally, the number of poles can be increased.Training goal
The change between curved lines in the bar zigzag has a strong gymnastic effect. It also activates the hindquarters and improves the horse's balance.
