Pole triangle III

VERY DIFFICULT

Description

At any point of the riding arena, 3 poles are placed to form a triangle with sufficient space to all sides. Depending on the length of the poles, they can touch at the corners or be laid out with a small distance between them. Three voltes are ridden around each corner of the triangle. The triangle is entered via a bar and a volt is ridden around the left or right corner of this bar. When the horse has reached the straight pole again, the horse is turned around and a volt follows in the opposite direction. The next time the horse crosses the straight pole, it is repositioned within the triangle and the last volte is ridden over the remaining corner of the triangle. Finally, the triangle is left in a straight line.

Tips and hints

The exercise can be ridden in all basic gaits, but is very difficult at a canter. It is therefore recommended for most riders and horses rather in walk or trot. It is important that the horse is correctly adjusted to the point.

Training goal

This exercise is particularly effective for improving the horse's balance. It also contributes to straightening and, of course, to gymnastics.
