Description
Three canter changes are ridden on the diagonal. After each change of canter a volt is applied.
Tips and hints
Between canter changes, the horse must be completely straightened and placed close to the aids. The first change should not be made too soon after turning to the diagonal, otherwise there is not enough room for the first volt.Concentrated flying changes on the diagonal © Victoria Rubly
Training goal
This exercise serves to prepare for series changes on the diagonal. The integrated voltes promote the horse's concentration on the aids and help to prevent the horse from anticipating the changes uncontrollably, becoming tense or impatient.
