Security through qualified training

Every qualified training in equestrian sports must give top priority to the safety of horse and rider. Regardless of the discipline, the characteristics and peculiarities of the horse as a running, fleeing or herd animal must be taught by the trainer in order to teach safe handling of the horse. Dealing with the horse on one's own without qualified training or specialist knowledge can pose a great safety risk for man and horse. If you do not know or have not learned how to behave in moments of fright of the horse, you are in a risky situation: You risk the horse running away and getting seriously injured, in such moments it can come to kick injuries of the human being or even be run over by the horse.
Therefore, as a layman it is absolutely necessary to receive a qualified training in handling the horse before you can handle the horse on your own.

The most important core elements of a qualified training should include the following points:

  • Correct equipment of horse and human to ensure safety: Intact bridle and saddle gear as well as general equipment, correct riding clothes (sturdy closed shoes, helmet, gloves, breeches, ...)
  • Fulfilling the horse's needs for sufficient exercise, social contact, appropriate care and feeding
  • Behavior of the human being near the horse, both from the ground and from the saddle: prudence, calmness, sovereignty, ...
  • Building a trusting relationship between horse and man
  • Safe condition of the stable, pasture, paddocks, riding arena,...
