The Westphalian stallion sale for dressage stallions ended this evening with an outstanding result. The champion stallion by Viva Gold/Fidertanz was sold for the sensational price of 1.2 million Euros. The licensed stallions cost an average of 165,182 Euros this evening. For the non licensed stallions, the customers invested an average of 26,357 Euros. Westphalia ended part one of its stallion sale with a turnover of 3.8 million Euros.
Part I of the Westphalian Main Licensing for riding horse stallions has ended. In an extremely successful stallion sale, the licensing of dressage horses came to an end this evening. A son of Viva Gold/Fidertanz (breeder and exhibitor: Bernd Goeke, Hamm) caused a sensation right at the beginning of the auction. Only a short time before, the strong moving dark bay stallion was crowned Champion Stallion of the Westphalian Main Licensing. With his impressive movement potential, the beautiful stallion convinced the licensing committee and the customers. Various bidding parties fought until the very end in the crowded Westphalian auction hall. After the hammer of auctioneer, auction and breeding manager Thomas Münch almost fell at 800,000 Euros, the other bids came in fast! "This is my first million euro hammer price", Thomas Münch was pleased when he accepted the bid of 1,000,000 euros. The stallion will travel to Helgstrand Dressage for the hammer price of ultimately 1.2 million Euros.
The two 1st reserve champions also aroused the interest of the expert audience. Head number 32 was in high favours. The promising son of Lord Europe/Don Frederic (breeder: Wieghaus-Vorwerk GbR, Neuenkirchen-Vörden; exhibitor: Gestüt Schafhof, Kronberg) was internationally sought after. In the end, the black stallion, whose dam line is the origin of many successful sport horses, was knocked down online. He will delight customers in Thailand for 401,000 Euros. Two 1st reserve champions of this main licensing had been selected by the licensing commission only shortly before. The second one carried the head number 49 (breeder: Rebekka Aicher Koch, Switzerland; exhibitor: BG W. Ottmann and Dr. H Möhlenkamp, Saerbeck). Like the champion stallion, he descents from the first vintage of Viva Gold. His dam is Filippa by Fidermark. He descends from the dam line of the Asgard's Ibiza son In My Mind, who was awarded the name titel NRW only yesterday. At the hammer price of 200,000 Euros, this chestnut stallion will move into his stallion box at the Lower Saxony State Stud in Celle.
Two 2nd reserve winners were also named by the licensing commission, both of which were for sale in the auction. This was on the one hand the head number 6, a stallion by Escamillo/Don Nobless (breeder: Mr. and Mrs. Willers-Moritzer, Rheine; exhibitor: Norbert Weiss, Switzerland). His dam is no other than the full sister of the licensed Despacito, who is successfully competing in dressage competitions. He was worth 362,000 Euros to his new owner. Another son of Escamillo was also named 2nd Reserve Champion and was for sale with the head number 8. He was bred and exhibited by Lars Nieberg, Sendenhorst, out of Victoria by Vitalis. The handsome bay was worth 160,000 Euros to his new owners.
Besides the Champion Stallion, two Reserve Winners, two 2nd Reserve Winners and three Premium Stallions, 19 other licensed stallions were for sale. 22 of the 26 licensed stallions offered were successfully sold. With an average price of 165,182 Euros they turned over in 3.6 million Euros. The seven non-licensed stallions sold for an average of Euro 26,357 with a total turnover of Euro 184,500.
The Westphalian Main Licensing of the jumping stallions continues tomorrow. The stallion market will take place in an OnLive auction on Wednesday, 7 December, from 4 pm.
