Patrick Stühlmeyer & Drako de Maugre win "Sires of the world" show jumping competition in Zangersheide

They have only been a couple since June and are already a really successful dream team: Patrick Stühlmeyer and the nine-year-old Kannan son Drako de Maugre won the CSI4* Grand Prix at Hof Waterkant with Janne Meyer in Pinneberg in August. On Friday, the two secured the next ribbon, this time in the "Sires of the world" jumping competition for licensed stallions over 1.50m with jump-off in Zangersheide.
Stühlmeyer and the chestnut reached the finish line after only 37.24 seconds. Unassailable for Gudrun Patteet and Sea Cost Enjoy Z (by Emerald), who galloped over the finish line after 37.67 seconds. Ten pairs had cleared their ticktets for the jump-off after clear rounds in the round. Among them was Christian Ahlman and Solid Gold Z (by Stakkato Gold). After a clear round in the jump-off, the pair placed eighth. Maurice Tebbel and the eight-year-old Chacco's Light (by Chacco-Blue) jumped into ninth place.

While the show director and Zangersheide boss Judy Ann Melchior and her staff organise the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship for Young Horses, the FEI Sires of the World, the Belgian Show Jumping Championship, the Studbook Zangersheide stallion selection and three highly regarded Quality Auctions, her partner, together with his rider Angelique Rüsen, presents a dozen of the Zangersheide breeding products highly successful and faultless and ensures with victories and placings that this generates a lot of interest in the foals and stallions with the Z-brand at the auctions in the evening. Win-win at its best is what we call this!
The first auction night of the Zangersheide Quality Auction in the framework of the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship for Young Horses was a complete success. Fourteen two-, three- and four-year-old horses were auctioned off under great attention, both live and online. The best-selling lot was a two-year-old stallion, Don Julio T40 Z, by Diamant de Semilly x Cento. He was sold for 130,000 Euros. With Centa de Muze as dam, the 1.60 m Grand Prix granddam Walloon de Muze and the great-granddam Qerly Chin, this stallion is not only a hopeful prospect because of his breeding genes, but has also inherited promising sport genes.
Another horse was sold for a six-figure sum. The Dominator 2000 Z daughter Dolce Vita vd Holstenhoeve Z changed hands for 100,000 Euros. The horses are now ridden in the United States of America, France, Italy, Mexico, Germany and Norway.
There will be two more auction evenings and another 82 of the most promising Z horses will be auctioned.
During the day, the second qualifiers were held for the five-, six- and seven-year-old show jumpers, each competing for the title of World Champion Young Jumper. After a one-day break, the final competitions will take place on Sunday with reduced starting fields.
In the five-year-old class, there were again 92 no-fault rides in 240 starts in a 1.25 m show jumping competition, all of which were placed first.
The six-year-old jumpers competed in a 1.35 m jumping competition against the clock. The second World Cup qualifier Walter Lelie won with Qalista DN (Emerald x Landetto). Yesterday the Belgian rider finished 199th with one jumping fault, today he was clear with the fastest time. Second place: Hessel Hoekstra from the Netherlands (0/63.58) on Legodermus and - again a super placing with third place - Hannes Ahlmann (GER), who had saddled Tiepolo (0/63.82).
The 1.40 m test for seven-year-old show jumpers was won by Jenny Krogsaeter (NOR) on Private Dancer van't Meulenhof (0/65.91) Private Dancer van 't Meulenhof (Gemini x Marius Claudius) was Belgian Champion last month. She had an unfortunate mistake in the first qualification, which she corrected today with the fastest clear time in the second qualification. This secured her a place in the final on Sunday. Second place went to Hannes Ahlmann (GER) on Tokyo (0/66.25), third place went to Wilm Vermeir (BEL) on Eytuka of Two Notes Z (0/66.67).
