Future sires of Westphalia

A highlight in the calendar of the Westfälisches Pferdestammbuch is just around the corner. The 2020 stallion crop will present itself with outstanding quality at this year's Westphalian Main Licensing. From 4 to 7 December, the promising lot of dressage and show jumping horses will have around 90 candidates ready for the licensing.
92 young stallions will be judged by the Westphalian Licensing Commission from 4 to 7 December. About 60 stallions with dressage emphasis and 30 stallions with jumping emphasis have been admitted after the pre-selection. The first crop of young stallions is eagerly awaited. Viva Gold has no less than five representatives. Vaderland is represented by three offspring, Le Formidable by two. But also proven stallions like Sir Donnerhall, Sir Heinrich or Zoom are candidates in this licensing lot. Among the jumping stallions, Hickstead Blue and Diamant de Casall are making their debut. The proven Comme il faut NRW has the most offspring here with three stallions.

Schedule Westphalian Main Licensing 2022

The licensing days will start with the dressage stallions of riding horses. They will make their first appearance on the triangular track on Sunday, December 4th. This will be followed by the lunging of the stallions in the auction hall at the Westphalian Horse Centre. The licensing decisions will be made on Monday, 5 December. The stallion market of the dressage stallions follows the licensing. The licensing of the jumping stallions begins on Tuesday, December 6th with the presentation on the triangular track. After the free jumping performances, the announcement of the licensing decisions, the award ceremony and the stallion market will take place on Wednesday, December 7th. Both stallion markets will take place in the form of an OnLive auction. Here, bids can be placed both on site in the hall and online at onlineauction.westfalenpferde.de. All important information as well as photos, videos and the results of the veterinary examination are available for viewing on the online auction site.

Show evening on 4 December

Another highlight of this year's Westphalian licensing days is the show evening. To kick off the event, the Westfälisches Pferdestammbuch invites you to a varied evening event on Sunday, 4 December, starting at 7 pm. Visitors can expect a varied programme in the auction hall of the Westphalian Horse Centre. Afterwards, the licensing party with DJ will take place in the marquee. Admission to the show evening and the party is free.

From Westphalia to the world

Many successful sport and breeding careers began in the Westphalian Auction Hall. So did that of this year's title hero of the licensing catalogue. The Dimaggio/Coriander son Da Costa (breeder: Ludger Budde, Oelde) found his way to the Lower Saxony State Stud in Celle via the Westphalian Stallion Market 2015. Under the saddle of his permanent rider Janina Tietze, he can boast victories and placings in tests for young riding horses up to advanced (S) level. The highlight of the stallion's career so far is the qualification for the Nuremberg Burg Cup Final this December in Frankfurt.
