Stockholm: Christian Ahlmann wins Grand Prix

Stockholm (fn-press). The international show jumping series Global Champions Tour made a guest appearance in Stockholm – very successfully from a German point of view, because Christian Ahlmann (Marl) won the Grand Prix with Dominator 2000 Z, third was Marcus Ehning (Borken) with Stargold.

32 couples started in the Grand Prix, the evaluation test for the Global Champions Tour, only six qualified for the jump-off after a clear round. Christian Ahlmann and Dominator 2000 Z completed the task the fastest. With the offspring of the world-class sire Diamant de Semilly, the 47-year-old crossed the finish line in 35.69 seconds. That was only a touch faster than the Swede Henrik von Eckermann with his top horse King Edward. The gelding bred in Belgium also finished the jump-off without any faults (0/35.8). Marcus Ehning was also involved in the fight for hundredths of a second. With the Oldenburg stallion Stargold, son of Stakkato Gold, he finished third in 35.87 seconds, also clear. The tournament in Sweden's capital Stockholm was the seventh stage (of a total of 18) of the Global Champions Tour in 2022. With his victory, Christian Ahlmann secured his ticket for the highly prized annual final, the so-called Play Offs, in Prague at the end of November. hen
